林中天教授,英國 劍橋大學獸醫學博士(主修獸醫眼科)、國立台灣大學獸醫專業學院臨床動物醫學研究所教授、台大附設動物醫院眼科門診主治醫師及主持人、亞洲獸醫眼科專科醫 師學會院士(Diplomate of Asian College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists, AiCVO)、亞洲獸醫眼科醫師協會副會長(Vice President, Asian Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology, AiSVO)、美國獸醫眼科專科醫師協會(ACVO)及歐洲獸醫眼科專科醫師協會(ECVO)權威國際SCI專業期刊Veterinary Ophthalmology執行編輯、亞洲聯盟小動物醫學會(FASAVA)諮詢委員及獸醫師眼科課程授課講師、亞洲多國臨床獸醫師眼科繼續教育訓練課程 授課講師。林教授於2005-2006年為美國北卡羅來納州立大學(NCSU)獸醫學院附設動物醫院眼科部客座教授,及美國俄亥俄州立大學(OSU)獸醫 學院附設動物醫院眼科部客座教授等。
林教授於國外、國內之動物眼科醫療及研究部門從事動物眼科疾病之臨床診療及研究教學工作20年,自1999年起在國立台灣大學(台大)附設動物醫院擔任外科醫師及眼科主治醫師。他依過去在歐美國家參訪實習過十多家動物眼科醫院的經驗及心得,於1999年起在台大規劃建立動物眼科專科門診並訓練教學動物眼科住院醫師以及實習醫師,並曾擔任台大附設動物醫院外科主任六年。林教授的主要臨床興趣在動物臨床眼科疾病診療及眼科顯微手術。
林教授任教於國立台灣大學獸醫學系暨研究所擔任臨床教師逾十五年,至今指導獸醫學研究所或臨床動物醫學研究所小動物外科及眼科之研究生或住院醫師逾三十人。林老師之研究興趣在眼科疾病的病因機轉、新診斷及新療法之研發。至今發表在具審查制度之國內外學術期刊的論文逾九十篇,且發表在國內外研討會的論文在百篇以上,也著有或參與的學術專書六本。
此外,林教授曾數次獲得國立台灣大學教學優良獎以及國外SCI優良期刊論文發表獎勵,並數次獲得中華民國獸醫學會之臨床貢獻獎及學術論文獎,及兩度獲得台灣李崇道博士基金會的全國獸醫菁英獎的臨床獎。

Professor Chung-Tien Lin is a Professor of Veterinary Ophthalmology, School of Veterinary Medicine and Chief of Ophthalmology Section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, National Taiwan University (NTU) in Taiwan. He is a founder Diplomate of the Asian College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (AiCVO) since 2010. He is also current vice-president of the Asian Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology (AiSVO). Professor Lin is an editor of the international scientific Journal “Veterinary Ophthalmology” published by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO) and Journal “Case Reports in Veterinary Medicine”.
Prof Lin received his DVM from the Department of Veterinary Medicine,National Taiwan University 1991. He obtained his PhD in canine generalized progressive retinal atrophy (gPRA) at the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, University of Cambridge, UK until 1998. He was back to Taiwan to establish a comprehensive veterinary ophthalmology referral and teaching center to train veterinary students, interns and residents in Taiwan since then. He had been actively involved in clinical veterinary ophthalmology as a visiting clinician or faculty in the Europe and USA since 1994. He was a visiting faculty at the Ophthalmology Clinics, College of Veterinary Medicine, North Carolina State University (NCSU) and Ohio State University (OSU) in 2005.
Prof Lin has been working on clinical, teaching, research in veterinary ophthalmology for 20 years and was awarded many times for his contributions of teaching, clinical service, and research in this field. His interests include clinical veterinary ophthalmology and comparative ophthalmology. He has published over 90 original papers in refereed journals and more than 110 conference papers, and involved in the writing or editing of 6 academic books. He has been a speaker of continuing education courses in veterinary ophthalmology for practicing vets in Taiwan and several other Asian countries for more than 15 years.
